The need for inhabitant’s
of Oredo Local Government Area to embrace proper environmental hygiene
standards as a way of curbing spread of the Ebola virus has been re-echoed by
the Local Government chairman Mr Osaro Obazee.

OBA OF BENIN HOLDS CRUCIAL MEETING WITH EDO STATE COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS AND CHIEFS;
Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs have passed a vote of confidence on Governor of Edo State Mr Adams Oshiomhole for what they called good governance.
They also
commended the commissioner of Police in the state , Director of State Security
Services and other security agencies on their roles in the peace in the state.
The traditional Rulers advised the warring
members of the state house of assembly to heed to Obas earlier call to maintain peace adding that no meaningful development can take place in
an atmosphere of rancor.

WORLD YOUTH DAY:
Youths
task private sectors on employment.
Youths in Edo state on a Road walk to mark this year’s
International Youth Day.
At a seminar to also mark the Day, Youths under the auspices
of Edo Youths for Good Governance and Initiative for Awareness on Migration,
Development and Reintegration called
on the organized Private sectors to collaborate with governments towards
sustainable tapping of abundant skills in youths across the State.
A strong signal was
also sent to Nigerian politicians to desist from engaging youths as thugs to achieve
selfish desires.
Others who spoke include Executive Director of Youth, Edo
State Government, Emmanuel Yakubu who reassured youths of government’s
commitment towards providing enabling environment for them to excel.
He said names of
qualified persons into the Neighborhood watch would soon be released.
International Youth Day holds 12th August yearly
to draw attention of international community to plight of Youth as well as celebrate
their potentials.
Theme of this year is Youth and Mental Health, under the
slogan Mental Health Matters.
