EMBER MONTHS SAFETY CAMPAIGN;

Every last part of the year popularly referred to as Ember months in Nigeria attract unusual high traffic owing to heavy human and vehicular movement across the country.

Also in this period frequent accidents are recorded some of them very fatal.

In Edo state alone over two hundred minor accidents were recorded while accident related deaths increased with twenty percent from previous data.

The new State Corp Commander, Mr. Familoni Olagoke Oluwasusi who came on board on the 14^th of August said common causes of accident were speed violation, disregard of caution signs dangerous overtaking and unfit vehicles.

To ensure a hitch free Ember Months period across Edo state Command of the federal Road safety Corps says it mapped out strategies to curtail excesses of Drivers.

Mr. Familoni Olagoke Oluwasusi said he will   embark on a campaign for the period of September through December with the theme: To Eradicate Road Traffic Crashes.

He said outside the safety awareness campaign there will motivational awards to best behaved Road user as well as staff of the Commission.

He urged the public to cooperate with them and understand that road codes and signs are to protect them not punishment.
