EKIADOLOR/ NO WORK, NO PAY:


Lecturers under the auspices of Coalition of Unions of State owned Tertiary institutions on Monday insisted on the on going indefinite strike  action despite threat by the State Government o with hold their salaries.

 The lecturers and other workers staged protest at the College of Education, Ekiadolor to press home their demands.
They carried placards with different inscriptions chanting anti government songs.
 The protesters are demanding amongst others payment of four months salary, payment of 16 months arrears of promotion of workers, and payment of gratuity  of  pensioners.
They also protested against poor funding of the institutions, poor state of infrastructure and lack of access roads to the campuses.
The Provost of the College   Professor Amen Uhunmwangho commenting  on the development, pleaded with  workers to sheathe their swords assuring that government was  looking into their demands.
He insisted that government would implement last weeks no work no pay order.  

At press time students were hung around the campus watching their protesting lecturers as the impact of the strike no doubts gravely affect their academic calendar.     NOSA/OED.
