The
association of paramount chiefs, Enigies of ovia north east local government of Edo
state has commended the local government council chairman Mrs.
Lucy Omagbon for her effort to turn the fortunes of the local government within
a short time.
The chairman
of the traditional rulers association the Enogie of Obazuwa, his royal highness
prince Edun Akenzua, made the position of the royal father known during their
visit to the council chairman at the councils secretariat .
Prince Akenzua
said the Traditional Rulers were aware of the huge debt and other challenges
the council boss inherited when she assumed office, but that they were happy that
the council chairman forged ahead, hence their visit to congratulate her for a
job well done.
The royal
fathers however expressed concern over the overbearing weight of recurrent
expenditure of the council which is not commensurate with resource allocation
to the council.
Meanwhile,
the council boss, as part of her administrations empowerment programme, made a
cash donation of N150,000 to the Ovia north east market women to assist them.
The cash was
received by the president of the market women association in the area comrade
Mrs. Roselyn Aruevbose.
In a related
development, the council boss also assisted an enterprising youth, Mr. amend
Uwa Asemota with a sum of two hundred thousand naira, cash to support his music
career.
Responding
to the council chairman benevolent gesture, the recipients thanked the council
boss and prayed God to sustain her.
