A chieftain
of the Peoples Democratic Party , who recently defected from the ruling party in Edo state , APC,
Chief Frank Erewele has asked for calm ahead the 2015 general elections.
Chief Frank
Erewele who was reacting to the bombing of the Dental Clinic of the Wife of
former secretary to Edo state Government Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu along Denis
Osadeby Avenue GRA Benin attributed the attack to attempts to cajole them back
to the ruling Party, APC.
The PDP
Chieftain whose House was also was
attacked early Friday said trouble started after he addressed a press where he
debunked allegations that it was the campaign office of the former SSG that was
the meeting point for those who attacked the Legislative quarters.
Chief Frank
Erewele said a petrol station at Oluku
near Benin City, which belongs to one of the women who also attended the press
conference was allegedly raised down by Agents of the state an action which he said may not be
unconnected with the attempts to arm twist all those who left the APC.
MEAN WHILE, Edo state Commissioner Mr Loiuse Odion in a press statement
has since denied any involvement of the state Government in any of the attacks
saying those crying wolf would have carried out the acts to attract public
sympathy and score cheap political gain.
The statement adds that the former SSG and his associates are
used to such gimmicks.
ELSE WHERE,
The Edo State Government has alerted the Nigerian Police to
put a member of the People Democratic Party , PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his
allies on close watch due to his perfidious nature.
A press statement by
Peter Okhiria, Chief Press Secretary to Edo State governor indicated that
government believes that the purported attack was stage-managed.
This is in view of what was regarded as claim of a bomb
attack and subsequent
Press statement he issued in Benin City against the backdrop of the purported attack on his wife’s clinic .
The statement says
allegations of this nature had always been the prelude to staging an attack on
APC members in the state in the past noting that by Ize-Iyamu’s account and his haste to accuse
Comrade Oshiomhole of culpability for a supposed crime yet to be investigated,
the government is persuaded to
believe he is merely acting a script. Wrt/oed./Xto
