INDEPENDENCE NO CELEBRATION.

 Nigeria’s 54th Independence Day celebration was low key in Benin, the Edo State Capital. It was devoid of usual fun fare;
Match past and other activities did not hold at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to the shock of many.

 Children and parents including Man O’ War, policemen and other security agents who came to the stadium were disappointed to meet the place empty.

Some bold children sauntered aimlessly around the stadium perhaps wishing for a   miracle of sorts. The inaction by government did not deter others from celebrating the day. Programmes were held in some churches in Benin to mark the day.

 Other recreational centres like Oba Ovoramwen Square in Benin experienced high turnover of patronage.
