UNIBEN LECTURE.


 A cross section of key stakeholders in Education sector say  unless well qualified personnel with good morals and other necessities for teachers are in place no meaningful over hauling  can be achieved in the Nations school system.

The Resource Persons were   gathered at a conference titled Hundred-100 Years of Nigerian Education, The Journey so far and Prospects for the Future, organized by the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, held at the   Main Auditorium, Akin Deko Hall of the University. 
The Key note presenter, Professor Emeritus, Nicholas Nwagwu listed other challenges to deal with in the education sector as quota system, Federal Character and poor funding, in the 100 years of educational existence in Nigeria.
The Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami welcoming Guests and Participants highlighted the urgent need to tackle myriad of problems in the educational system especially in management and administration of schools.
On his part, Former Minister of Education, Professor Abraham Imogie of the Faculty of Education, UNIBEN, acknowledged the achievements vis-a-vis problems bedeviling educational system in Nigeria   adding that  Government’s lackadaisical approach to the  well-being of the system, has worsened the problem.
It was a consensus amongst Resource Persons and Participants that there is hope for revamping of Education sector , but hat every body is how ever required to functionally perform their roles.
