Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs have passed a vote of confidence on Governor of Edo State Mr Adams Oshiomhole for what they called good governance.
They also
commended the commissioner of Police in the state , Director of State Security
Services and other security agencies on their roles in the peace in the state.
The traditional Rulers advised the warring
members of the state house of assembly to heed to Obas earlier call to maintain peace adding that no meaningful development can take place in
an atmosphere of rancor.
The
traditional rulers made the commendations
at a meeting presided by the first Vice Chairman of the council and
Onojie of Opojie Zaiki Ehidiamen on behalf of the chairman, Oba of Benin, Omo
N’ Oba N’Edo Uku Akpokpolo, Oba
Erediauwa held at the Oba's palace on Wednesday.
Other members of the council including the
Esogban of Benin Kingdom, David Edebiri also applauded the Benin monarch on his
leadership role.
The commissioner of Local Government and
Chieftaincy Affairs, Lucky James who said the roles of the traditional
institution cannot be underrated, reaffirmed government's commitment to
bringing dividends of democracy to doorsteps of the people of the state.
