VANDALISED ASSEMBLY COMPLETION



The Festus Ebea led Edo State House of Assembly has commenced renovation of the house including re-roofing of part of the assembly complex allegedly vandalized in the wake of the crisis rocking the house.

With the recent Federal Government orders that both the public and registered private primary and secondary schools that were meant to resume on September 15th and postponed to October13th be reversed to the previous date in September attributed to the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in the country has elicited reactions from Nigerians.

STUDENTS PROTEST: GOVERNMENT DENIES OWING TEACHERS, PROMISES REHABILITATE FACILITIES.

                                           
Edo State Ministry of Education has described as unfortunate the ill-fated protest which greeted College of Education, Ekiadolor on Wednesday.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Gladys Idahor  said  the protesting students  were misinformed stating that the government was not owing teachers of  colleges of education in the state including Institute of Technology and management,  Usen.

That was the mood at the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC secretariat in Benin on Tuesday. Official activities at the NYSC Secretariat were grounded for hours during a protest staged by Members of Edo State Professional Freelancers Photographers Association in collaboration with civil society group in Edo State.

Life has bounced back in Government Hospitals across Edo State Following the full resumption of Resident Doctors after they were recalled by the Federal Government.

POOR STATE OF ROADS IN GRA, BENIN. RESIDENTS LAMENT:


Some residents at the Government Reservation Area-GRA have lamented over the terrible state of their roads.
The Roads include the entire stretch of Adesuwa Road, Aiguobasimwin and Aikhionbare Streets. Others are parts of Boundary, Upper Etete and Ugbor.

OBA OF BENIN HOLDS CRUCIAL MEETING WITH EDO STATE COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS AND CHIEFS;


 











Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs have passed a vote of confidence on Governor of Edo State Mr Adams Oshiomhole for what they called good governance.
They also commended the commissioner of Police in the state , Director of State Security Services and other security agencies on their roles in the peace in the state.
 The traditional Rulers advised the warring members of the state house of assembly to heed to Obas earlier call  to maintain peace adding that  no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancor.
