 Nigeria’s 54^th Independence Day celebration was low key in Benin, the Edo State Capital. It was devoid of usual fun fare;

Match past and other activities did not hold at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to the shock of many.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State says journalists must never glamorize criminals who intend to undermine the sovereignty and unity of the country, saying such persons must be reported as enemies of the nation.

CHURCH BUILDING COLLAPSE

Governor of Edo state Mr Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state says government would investigate the circumstances leading to the collapse of a church building which led to the death of one person and left two others injured.

DEFILEMENT OF MINORS:

A force Forensic analyst and Consultant Pathologist, Dr. Wilson Akhiuwu on Monday testified before Egor Magistrate Court one that three of the eleven minors of King of Kings College were assaulted after conducting medical checks.

The Governor of Edo state Adams Oshiomhole has expressed satisfaction at the quality of work at the central Hospital, Benin City.

The Governor stated this on Wednesday   when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to assess the level of work at the central hospital.

The Festus Ebea led Edo State House of Assembly has commenced renovation of the house including re-roofing of part of the assembly complex allegedly vandalized in the wake of the crisis rocking the house.

The chairman of Oredo local government council Mr   Osaro Obazee has been commended for the infrastructural development in Oredo local government area.

The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by members of Benin Muslims Congress to the chairman of the council.
